Mercedes Testimony

A doctor’s visit in May left me shocked and spurred me into action.
The doctor read my lab work and reported that I had diabetes and that medication would be
needed immediately because my blood glucose numbers were in the 600s, the A1C was 7.1
and my cholesterol 226. I was in danger of a stroke.

He wanted me to lose weight because of the pressure it was putting on my heart and kidneys.
I was not feeling well at that time, with many symptoms and pain. I was also under a lot of stress
taking care of my mother, who was in the hospital also due to diabetic problems. They wanted to
amputate her toe. Hearing the doctor diagnose me with the same disease was a reality-check
that opened my eyes to immediate action.

One of my jobs is being a caretaker for Virginia’s sweet mama. I observed how healthy she is,
91 years of age. I knew about Virginia’s work and often told her I should look into it myself. No
sooner did I leave the doctor’s office, I contacted her. I told the doctor that I did not want
medication just yet and wanted to work on it on my own first. With much doubt and warning that
it would not be possible for me to get well without the meds, he agreed to give me a couple of
months.

He wanted to lose 15 lbs as soon as possible.
I am happy to report that three months later, I have lost 30.5 lbs. My blood glucose has dropped
to an average of 95, and my A1C is normalized at 5.6 and cholesterol at 179!
Needless to say, the doctor was shocked as he read my results and saw how well I looked.
Honestly, he acted bothered that HE was not the one who helped me with his medicines. In fact,
he said this will not last, so next appointment, I will have medicines ready for you. But I will
surprise him again!

Vrginia’s guidance helped me focus on daily food adjustments, which helped me release excess
water retention, which was one of the causes of the pain and inflammation. Her individualized
program and coaching helped me create new eating habits and food choices and solidified
scheduled eating patterns for better sugar metabolism. It wasn’t easy, but it has definitely been
worth it. Now my cravings have changed, and I am getting creative with the recipes.
I feel better, I look better, and in turn, I was able to help my mom save her toe and manage
better with her onset diabetes. I am so thankful to God first, and the You Can Heal You program
for a second chance at a healthy life. Because if it were not for the lifestyle changes I made in
three short months, I would be on many meds with numerous side effects for life.
