Fermentation has gotten a lot of attention as a healthy food fad. Rightly so…its benefits are numerous. For me, fermented foods became a super healing food. The enzyme action and probiotic benefits that fermentation provides was the formula that I used to improve my gut environment.
This process preserves the food, and creates beneficial enzymes, b-vitamins, Omega-3 fatty acids, and many strains of probiotics which benefit the gut at many levels of digestion.

Natural fermentation of foods has also been shown to preserve nutrients in food and break the food down to a more digestible form. Its only at this stage that food can be efficiently absorbed through the digestive system into the blood. This, along with the plethora of probiotics created during the fermentation process, explains the link between consumption of fermented foods and improved digestion.

Fermented foods includes pickled vegetables and fermented drinks.
This class will be hands on preparation of sauerkraut and kimchi as well as demonstration of fermented liquids.

This class will require participants to bring a knife and cutting board
