What’s in a Meal?

  • Each meal consists of four courses prepared fresh on each delivery day.  Typically, we’ll create the courses with the intention of representing major plant-based food groups such as proteins (tempeh, tofu, legumes, etc.), starches (gluten-free whole grains, noodles, etc.), vegetables (fresh seasonal vegetables), and soup ( Miso based; light, stews, purees).  Variety is expressed by creative food combinations, health-supportive seasonings, and a rainbow of vegetable choices.

 

  • The character of the meals changes seasonally as we respect natures timely bounty!  Each daily menu is carefully designed to meet the dietary standards we stand for; digestive friendly, anti-inflammatory and glycemic conscious. Each recipe is prepared in a peaceful environment with intention, love and care.

Eating properly for one’s health is a learned art, which begins with selecting and touching the ingredients. Then and only then you begin to connect with your nutrition. No matter how good the quality of a meal is, it is enhanced when prepared by you. You can heal you… one meal at a time, becomes the mantra your body ultimately energetically feels to heal. I speak from experience. Many times have I had beautiful meals prepared at reputable restaurants, only to leave uncomfortable. Usually, too much richness from spices, sauces or oils. I go home and prepare the same meal with the balance I need and my body is happy! In my years of teaching, I have found that it is the lack of confidence that keeps people from feeling successful with culinary skills. We need to enjoy the process and to do that, we must learn to cook well.

Whether the thought of having a personal chef was a desire or a need –You Can Heal You can make it happen! There are three delicious ways you can experience learning in the comfort of your home. 

Private Chef – Chef comes to your home and prepares meals to be left in glass

containers and ready for you to heat up (not in the microwave –of course). The main dishes to be prepared are preplanned by you and the chef or Virginia. You can add side dishes such as steamed veggies orwhatever you may need to create your personal balance.

Instructional Chef – Chef comes to your kitchen and teaches you one-on-one in your own environment for up to three hours. May include kitchen/equipment organization and/or shopping for the full cooking experience.
Cyber Chef – An online one-on-one cooking demonstration with our trained chef where you cook along or observe. Meal planning will be pre-established. You will enjoy the personal attention and comfort of cooking along with someone who will answer your questions and observe as you practice.

ALL CLASSES WILL COVER THE BASICS FROM INGREDIENT QUALITY, TO COOKING
TECHNIQUES FOR YOUR PERSOANL NEEDS. YOU WILL ALSO LEARN CUTTING
EFFENCIENCY AND EQUIPMENT CARE. YOU WILL HAVE FUN AS YOUR CONFIDENCE BUILDS INTO A STRONG FOUNDATION OF KNOWLEDGE.
